EOL Functional Tester for Automotive ECUs

Functional testing for automotive ECUs at the end-of-line (EOL) ensures correct assembly and production quality for all the electronic components. For complex ECUs, such as those based on three microcontrollers, extensive communication buses (CAN, LIN, 10BASE-T1S, Broad-Reach and FlexRay), EOL testing verifies that all functions and GPIO are functioning as intended. Nowadays complex automotive ECU gateways may have up to 600 pins, that must be individually tested to assure 100% coverage.

These tests check for proper signal routing, power distribution, current measurements and communication integrity with the focus to identify assembly defects and ensure proper software flashing. For instance:

  • Communication buses are assessed for data transmission accuracy, timing, and fault detection.
  • Functional checks verify inputs and outputs responses to input stimuli, ensuring the ECU operates as designed.

Rapid, automated EOL testing minimizes production time while ensuring each unit meets quality standards and is ready for deployment in vehicles.

Generation RFID has a strong background in both embedded developments of smart test boards and functional EOL. We are the partner you need to develop a test solution that will give your company competitive advantages over your competitors.
